My biography
My name is Apollo Giu and I come from beautiful Apulia. I came to Germany as a teenager and grew up in Hamburg. Living between two cultures continues to shape my thinking and my music to this day.
My granddad was my first role model
I owe my love of music to my grandfather, who was a musician himself. He taught me many things that I still use today. I started out playing the guitar, but as life would have it, changing circumstances led me to the piano, where I began composing.
Introspection
Today I know that I found my soul mate in the piano. My compositions are a glimpse into my inner world – sometimes full of joy, sometimes melancholic, but always honest. Every time I play my music, I immerse myself in another world – it gives me strength and peace at the same time. My great role model is the Turin composer Ezio Bosso, whose music never fails to impress me deeply.
Album & Concerts
I wrote my first album a few years ago – I’m currently working on my second. After a few small gigs, I’ll be playing more concerts across Germany in 2026. On 13 March, I’ll be playing at Die Glocke in Bremen, and on 24 April at the Rudolf-Oetker-Halle in Bielefeld. There, I’ll be presenting my new concert programme Zwischen Himmel und Erde (Between Heaven and Earth). You can find more information here.
